Complain Like a University Student
When your professor tells you that an exam is going to be "Open-Book" they legit mean "open textbook," not "open notebook." You'd assume there is a lot less information in your class notes than in the textbook...
Well, there goes my English exam down the toilet along with my paper that she tore into microscopic pieces. If I don't get my 4.0 GPA this year, I'm blaming her.

I Miss Everything About You
Mondays, Wednesdays.
Those two days used to be my definition of pure bliss. My definition of perfection. Now, they’re my saddest days. My definition of stress, heart-ache and misery.
Sometimes I just wonder and I can’t understand where we went wrong; Why can’t we talk, hug, laugh and love like we used to? I wish you’d love me or at least like me like you used to. A part of me wishes November had never happened. It pains me to know that we can never go back to how things were before.
And now I just wish that I had the ability to be as happy these days, as I used to be whenever I was around you.

Feb 2012
Happy February everyone! I hope that everyone is enjoying their first two days in so far.
February for me means 18 more days until we perform with Oran in Stories, 35 more until the Fort McMurray tour and 41 more until we go on our Vancouver/Seattle tour. This month defines hard work for Kokopelli...but it'll all pay off in the end. Let's make every moment count.

There Is A Time For Everything
"There comes a point in life when, “fun” no longer means clubbing, drinking or being out ‘till 4AM, or thinking about yourself first. “Fun” means Disney movies, family dinners, bedtime stories, long cuddles, a messy house, sleeping by 10PM and hearing little voices say “I love you.” Becoming a parent or grandparent doesn’t change you, it makes you realize that the little people that YOU created deserve the very best of your time."

Edmonton Minor Hockey Week: The Final Game
Tons of cheering going on today from the large crowds of people at Terwillegar Rec Centre as Edmonton Minor Hockey Week comes to a close. Blood, sweat and a hell of a lot of tears for many teams coming out of their dressing room after the game.
North Seera Hitmen, one of the top teams in the Bantam(2) division, made it this far to the finals only to let the gold medal slip away from their fingertips.
Trailing 2-0 in the first period to the Eagles, North Seera’s forward, Bryan Nguyen scored the opening goal for Seera, closing the gap, 2-1. Seconds later, Eagles were once again, up two goals. Going into the third with a score of 3-2 for the Eagles, North Seera Hitmen’s assistant captain, Nolan Svendsen scored the second goal for Seera, but despite their last minute push to try and tie the game, they came up short and ended up taking home silver at this year’s Minor Hockey Week instead.
A disappointing loss, but most certainly a memorable trip to the finals.
Great job to all teams who participated in EMHW 2012 and congratulations to all of the winning teams.

Edmonton Minor Hockey Week: Seera in the Final
Having been a rough week for North Seera Hockey (Hitmen) in Edmonton Minor Hockey Week, the boys still managed to make it all the way to the final game.
None of us thought that these boys would make it this far. They kicked off their first game of the tournament against MillWoods at Kinsmen Arena, suffering a 3-2 loss thanks to the ref for handing out continuously lousy 4-minute penalties. They fortunately had a second chance - a do-or-die game against the KC Sabres at Millenium Place but also struggled to get the win as they didn’t take the game as aggressively or as seriously as they should have.
Last night’s semi-final game? Nail-biter. Five seconds into the first period, SWZ rocketed one into the back of the net. Seven minutes later, the score was 2-0 for SWZ. Seera Hitmen came back from the two-goal deficit later on in the third period and took it into triple OT where they won 3-2.
Tonight, the boys must be focused and on top of their game as they take on the Eagles at 8PM at Terwillegar Rec Centre.

North Seera Hitmen: Semi-Final Win
It was an extremely tight, nerve-wrecking, white-knuckle game tonight, but North Seera came back from a two goal deficit and won the semi-final game 3-2 in triple OT. Great work tonight, now let’s win that final tomorrow, boys!

My Silly Mistake
One of the biggest mistakes I've ever made in my life was never putting the effort into my education in highschool. And this is definitely one of my biggest regrets in my life so far.
Teachers and parents have always told us to, "do a few questions for homework" or "study for your exam" and we never listened. We always focused on being the prettiest or the most popular, screwing around the mall during spares or partying every single night while we coud have concentrated more on doing something useful with our time. At one (or more) point(s) in time, some of us walked down the hallways with our noses in the air and looked down upon all the kids who studied while eating lunch alone. Don't lie now, we all know we did it. Really though, that was out of jealousy. We wish we could have been as confident and smart as them. The truth is that beauty and popularity doesn't last forever, no matter what we keep telling ourselves. That's why I'm telling you this now because I was JUST there: There's no harm in making an effort to study and broaden your intelligence. Seriously, it won't kill you to read or study because nobody is going to make fun of you for being smart. Instead, they will respect you. What people will judge you for is being an un-educated freaking dumbass working a minimum wage job ten years from now while everyone else has their Ph.D in psychology.
I guess it takes paying for six hundred dollars for someone to toss you a bunch of assignments to be due the next day, to make you realize how much you should have appreciated those who were always encouraging you to do better. It makes you realize you could have done better.
If I were to go back to highschool right now, I'd get straight A's so fast. But that opportunity is gone and it's just the matter of learning from your own mistakes and making that effort to do better. I just wrote my Anthropology midterm and I'm sure there was sunshine beaming from my behind when I saw my mark. Effort pays off. It's as simple as that.

Inner Fat Kid
I'm starting to notice that the more I study, the more I eat...and I’ve got to admit that none of the stuff that I eat is even close to being healthy. ie: McDonalds, tacos, pizza, chicken wings, potato chips and shit like that. I’m pretty sure it’s my stupid inner fat kid, which I like to refer to as a gay kid... It just wants to, “come out” every now and again. Boy I sure hope my future husbad will still love me when I'm old and fat. If not, I won't blame him.

Post Christmas Syndrome
Welcome back to life Chantal...after sitting in an empty classroom for about half an hour, I realized that my two-hour math lecture happened two hours ago. Major FML. It's also only my second day back and I'm already preparing for my ANTH midterm next week. On the plus side, Kokopelli rehearsals restart soon. January 9th...when Monday's (and Wednesdays) are returned to their usual happy state.
